Kelly Emery

RN/IBCLC

I went to college to become a psychologist, believe it or not, but after the experience of birthing and breastfeeding my first baby, I was “hooked” on the incredible miracle of it all. My daughter and I did not get the best start with breastfeeding, and I experienced just about every challenge I could (engorgement, sore/cracked nipples, plugged ducts, mastitis!!).

Finally at four months she and I got the hang of it and I actually enjoyed breastfeeding. I was so thankful that I got to the other side of that mountain and was now in the “peaceful valley”, where breastfeeding was a joy and something I looked forward to. I decided I wanted to help other mothers through this and in 1994, I became certified as a lactation educator and postpartum doula.

Over the next decade I gained experience (as well as a nursing degree) and started helping moms in the hospital, where I earned my IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) credential. I subsequently ventured out to create a place where mothers could come once they were discharged from the hospital (the time when most problems rear their ugly heads). baby beloved, inc. was born December 1, 2004, and I’ve been so very inspired by all of the women I’ve had the privilege to work with. I really do have the best job in the world!

Sincerely,

Kelly Wysocki-Emery, RN, IBCLC
