We offer support for…

Nursing/Latching Support
Baby beloved consultants can offer support with troubleshooting issues happening at the breast with latch and positioning. These consults can take place in your home, in our office, or via telehealth (it helps if you have someone to hold the camera!)

Bottle Feeding/Refusal
Whether you are only bottle feeding, introducing bottles, or struggling with it all, we’re here to help navigate the challenge with you. Issues with bottling can be supported with a home visit, office visit, or via telehealth. If you plan to come to our office, bring an extra bottle (we’ve got a warmer in the office for you!).

Milk Supply Issues
We get it… supply issues suck! Whether you’re feeling like you’re not making enough milk, or you’re making too much milk, we understand that this can complicate a feeding journey. During an in-person consult, we will be able to offer a “weighted feed” with a specialized scale which can help assess how much milk baby is transferring at the breast. We can help troubleshoot issues with oversupply and undersupply, to make sure you and baby are both comfortable. Not ready for an in-person visit? No problem, we can troubleshoot via telehealth too!

Pumping and Returning to Work
Transitioning back to work after parental leave can be bittersweet…especially when navigating pumping AND your picking back up you normal job duties. Let’s navigate this together. Come into our office or meet with us via telehealth, and we’ll give you the low down on how to manage it all… we’ll chat about what your rights are in the workplace, how to pump, when to pump, milk storage, and make sure you’ve got the right equipment on hand.

Prenatal Preparation
Let’s get things off to a strong start while you’re still pregnant! Whether or not this is your first baby, we believe EVERYONE can benefit from chatting about breastfeeding and lactation before it begins (yep! Partners too!). During a prenatal consult, we’ll chat about what to expect in those first five days with baby AND with your body, we’ll talk about pumps and how to get yours ordered, and answer any questions you might have. We’d love to see you for your prenatal consult in our office or via telehealth.

Inducing Lactation
If you’re interested in inducing lactation, we’d love to support you! Many families choose to induce lactation or re-lactate for various reasons (adoption, same sex couples, providing milk for a friend’s baby, gender affirmation, etc.) No matter what your “why” is, we’re here for you. We’ll work with you and your provider to talk about next steps with possible hormone recommendations, pumping options, and expectations. We’ll offer you an inclusive, safe space via telehealth or in-person in our office, to chat about your lactation goals and next steps.

Weaning Support
Whether your lactation journey lasted one hour or 4 years, we’d love to support you in weaning. Making this transition can bring up lots of emotions (joy, grief, relief, fear, etc.) and some discomfort (clogged ducts, mastitis, etc.) When you’re feeling like your lactation journey is coming to an end, let’s navigate the transition together, so it’s as gentle and pain-free as possible for you. These visits can typically be done via telehealth, but you’re always welcome to come into our office as well.

Oral Assessment
Maybe latching or feeding isn’t going the way you expected… maybe your pediatrician (or you!) have suspected something just isn’t “right” in baby’s mouth…. Let’s figure this out together. Our consultants are IBCLCs, and have specialized training to assess baby’s mouth and any restrictions that might be causing feeding issues or affecting function. If your consultant feels like there may be an issue, we’ll work with your preferences to get you referred to a specialist who can offer further assessment and treatment if needed. We have connections with local Ear Nose and Throat doctors, pediatric dentists, body work folks, and Speech Language Pathologists/Occupational Therapists. If you’d like a visit to include an oral assessment, consider a home visit or office visit.

Got something else on your mind?
Got a question or issue thats not listed here? No problem! Hit us with your best shot! Our consultants are IBCLCs (Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants) and RNs. With a combined 50 years of supporting perinatal families, we’ve seen it all, but love to learn and navigate challenges together.
If you’re needing lactation or breastfeeding support, please book a consult below or reach out and we’ll help you book one!

Nipple Shields… and weaning off one!
Imagine just lifting your shirt, see a little mouth search for you, quickly latch baby on, then instantly settle in and calmly nurse without pain....with lots of swallows and those sweet little noises they make as their body melts into yours as they fill their bellies. Let's see how we can work together to figure this out so you can ditch the shield. This works best in person, but believe it or not, we've had lots of success helping mamas do this via telehealth, too.
Finding the correct pump flange size

Confused about all of the pumps on the market AND the choices for breastshields/flanges? Having the right size can make all the difference in your pumping efforts. Let's meet to find out what works best for YOU. We have sterilized samples of everything for you to try on for size. Meeting is person is best for this but telehealth will work, too.
**Partners or support people are welcome (and encouraged!) to attend all consultations with you!**
